St. Aidan’s Primary School in Stroud Green has once again been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted, a prestigious achievement it has maintained since 2007. Inspectors praised the school for its high-quality education, positive behavior and attitudes, personal development, effective leadership, and exceptional early years provision during their recent visit.

One of the key highlights of the school is its rich and ambitious curriculum, which includes engaging trips and a well-designed personal, social, and health education (PSHE) program that promotes students’ well-being. Students at St. Aidan’s are described as highly motivated and enjoy educational visits to local museums as well as international trips to places like Paris.

Moreover, the school emphasizes learning both inside and outside the classroom, providing students with numerous opportunities for personal growth and development. For example, the active student council organizes events like the ‘Super Bonderful Read’ where older students read to their younger peers, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among the students.

Additionally, visits from local community police officers help students understand local risks and how to stay safe, while also educating them about cyberbullying and emphasizing the importance of mental and emotional well-being. This holistic approach to education ensures that students at St. Aidan’s are not only excelling academically but also learning essential life skills.

Headteacher Kate Stevens expressed her delight at the school’s recent inspection results, attributing the success to the hard work and dedication of the entire school community. She also acknowledged the support and leadership provided by various organizations, including Haringey Council, Haringey Education Partnership, the London Diocesan Board of Schools, and the school governors.

Cllr Zena Brabazon of Haringey Council commended St. Aidan’s for setting a high standard and ensuring that students are equipped to manage their mental and emotional well-being. She praised the efforts of the staff, students, and parents in creating a nurturing learning environment.

Ann Graham, the council’s director of Children Services, expressed pride in the school’s achievement and reaffirmed the commitment to providing excellent learning environments across Haringey. St. Aidan’s serves as a shining example of the positive outcomes that can be achieved through collaborative efforts within the community.
