road-closures-in-a2-a20-a21-a282-what-to-know-this-week

So, like, apparently there’s some maintenance shenanigans going down this week that might mess with your driving plans in Kent and south east London. The A2, A20, A21, and A282 are all getting some TLC, but it could mean delays and diversions for all you drivers out there.

The goal of these roadworks is to make sure the roads are safe and in tip-top shape, but it might mean you’ll have to take a detour or two. National Highways is telling everyone to check before they head out because a bunch of routes in and out of the capital will be affected. The A2, which is like the lifeline connecting Dover to central London, is one of the main roads in the spotlight.

Starting from Monday, May 19 to Thursday, May 22, here’s what’s on the closure hitlist:

Monday, May 19

– The A2 eastbound from Tollgate to M2 Junction 2 will be shut down from 8pm to 6am for some survey works.
– The A20 westbound from Swanley Interchange to Ruxley is also closing shop from 10pm to 5.30am for some resurfacing magic.
– The A282 northbound Dartford Crossing West Tunnel is off-limits from 9pm to 5am for some tunnel maintenance fun.

Tuesday, May 20

– The A2 eastbound from Tollgate to M2 Junction 2 is saying “see ya later” from 8pm to 6am.
– The A21 southbound Intch Roundabout exit slip road is having a little snooze from 9pm to 5am.
– The A282 northbound Dartford Crossing West Tunnel is taking a break from 9pm to 5am.

Wednesday, May 21

– The A2 westbound Canterbury Road entry slip road is under construction from 8pm to 5am for some maintenance works.
– The A20 westbound Swanley Interchange to Ruxley is closed from 10pm to 5.30am for more resurfacing action.
– The A282 northbound Dartford Crossing West Tunnel is closed from 9pm to 5am for some unknown reason. (Not really sure why this matters, but hey, just go with it.)

Thursday, May 22

– The A2 eastbound from Tollgate to M2 Junction 2 is shutting down from 8pm to 6am, just like every other day this week.
– The A282 southbound Jct 1A exit slip road is closed from 10pm to 5.30am for more resurfacing works.

There’s no need to worry about closures on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, so you can go back to your regular driving routine. Just make sure to follow the detour signs and maybe leave a little earlier to avoid any surprises on the road. Happy driving, folks!
