return-of-barnet-fc-to-underhill-stadium-gains-strong-support

Barnet Football Club is back in the Football League, sitting pretty at the top of the National League after narrowly missing out on promotion for two years in a row. But can their success on the field be matched off the field as well? It seems like there’s a glimmer of hope as support for the club’s bid to return to its historic Underhill home continues to grow.

The club played its last game at Underhill, its home for over a hundred years, back in 2013. Since then, they’ve been exiled in Harrow due to some disagreements with the council over development plans and the inability to find a suitable alternative site. But now, owner Tony Kleanthous has come up with a plan to build a new 7,000-seat stadium on council-owned playing fields just south of the old site.

The proposal aims to secure the future of Barnet FC and bring benefits to the community that has been a central part of the club’s history for generations. However, the idea of developing in the Green Belt has faced resistance in the past. Despite that, a strong Bring Barnet Back campaign, separate from the club, is challenging the status quo and pushing for the return of the club to its roots.
