This Sunday, some South Western trains will face cancellations, diversions, or bus replacements as a result of necessary maintenance work. The impact will be felt solely on December 8, and we have compiled all the essential details for you to plan your weekend journey accordingly.

Queenstown Road Area:

The Queenstown Road station will remain closed throughout the day. Services from London Waterloo to Reading, Windsor, and London Waterloo via Richmond and Kingston will depart from London Waterloo earlier than usual.

Woking Area:

Due to maintenance work, the lines in the Woking area will be closed for the entire day. London Waterloo to Weymouth services will depart earlier and be diverted between Clapham Junction and Southampton Central with additional stops at Guildford, Havant, and Fareham. Morning and early afternoon services to Poole/Portsmouth via Eastleigh will be revised, starting from Basingstoke without dividing at Eastleigh. A revised service will operate between Eastleigh and Portsmouth Harbour. Late afternoon and evening services to Poole and Portsmouth via Eastleigh will commence from Basingstoke and Eastleigh respectively, with additional stops at Micheldever, Shawford, and other locations.

Buses will provide transportation between Woking, Guildford, and Basingstoke. Passengers traveling from London Waterloo and Clapham Junction are advised to use services to Guildford to connect with the bus service. Services to Portsmouth via Guildford will be altered, skipping Woking but adding a stop at Surbiton. Additionally, some stopping services will terminate at Weybridge or be diverted after Addlestone. London Waterloo to Basingstoke services will not run, with buses operating between Weybridge and Guildford, Basingstoke, and Aldershot via Woking.

Reading to Basingstoke:

Maintenance work will close the lines between Reading and Basingstoke for the entire day. Services to Salisbury will start from Basingstoke, with buses running between Reading and Basingstoke to accommodate passengers.

In light of these changes, it is essential to plan your journey accordingly and allow for additional travel time due to potential delays and diversions. Stay informed and check for updates before embarking on your trip to ensure a smooth and hassle-free travel experience.
