The fire, like, totally broke out at High Street Kensington today (May 10) and, like, caused chaos for London’s Tube lines, you know? Transport for London (TfL) was all like, “There’s a fire alert at High Street Kensington at 4pm this afternoon, mate.” Firefighters from Kensington and Hammersmith were all over it, dealing with a railway sleeper that decided to catch on fire at the station.
The London Fire Brigade spokesperson was all chill, saying the fire was “small” and under control by 4.45pm. But, like, the damage was already done, man. The Circle line and District line were suspended, and even the Hammersmith & City line between Barking and Liverpool Street was affected.
By 5.15pm, the District line was still out of commission going eastbound. But, hey, the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines were back up and running, so that’s something, right? Severe delays were messing everything up, and Putney Bridge station was closed to stop people from squishing in like sardines.
TfL was probably bombarded with questions, but who knows if they had any answers. They were probably just like, “We’ll get back to you on that one, mate.”
But, yeah, that’s the scoop on the fire at High Street Kensington today. Just another day in London, I guess.
