An international manhunt has been launched to find Pankaj Lamba, the prime suspect in the murder of 24-year-old Harshita Brella, who was found dead in the boot of a car in Ilford.
Chief Inspector Paul Cash revealed during a press conference in Kettering that they suspect Lamba, who is believed to be Harshita’s husband, of murdering her in Northamptonshire before transporting her body to Ilford by car. It is now believed that Lamba has fled the country to avoid arrest.
The tragic discovery of Harshita’s body came after a concerned member of the public in Corby, Northampton contacted the Northamptonshire Police regarding her welfare. When officers arrived at her home address in Skegness Walk, they found no answer, prompting a missing person investigation that eventually led them to the car in Ilford where her body was discovered.
Prior to her death, it was reported that a domestic violence protection order was issued in September to protect Harshita from a perpetrator of violence, who was prohibited from visiting her workplace, molesting her, threatening violence, or intimidating her in any way. The order, which was served by Northamptonshire Police and implemented by magistrates, aimed to safeguard Harshita from any further harm.
Despite the issuance of the protection order, no formal charges were recorded against the individual in court, and they were subsequently released after a hearing where they were ordered to cover all costs associated with the legal proceedings.
The tragic nature of Harshita Brella’s death has sparked outrage and concern among the community, leading to a concerted effort by law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend Pankaj Lamba, the prime suspect in this heinous crime. The international manhunt for Lamba underscores the seriousness with which authorities are treating this case and their commitment to bringing the perpetrator to justice.
As the investigation unfolds, authorities are urging anyone with information about Pankaj Lamba’s whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding Harshita Brella’s murder to come forward and assist in the ongoing efforts to secure justice for the victim and her loved ones.
